2026 Programme
Discover what’s happening at Merthyr Tydfil Camera Club, from photography presentations, videos, prints and projected images. During our weekly meetings we also have workshops and competitions.
This programme of events are fluid therefore date, time, and content of events are subject to change so constantly check this page for any changes.
This season we are looking to program in more practical sessions, with workshops spread over two consecutive Wednesday evenings. The aim is to give us more time to discuss and set-up equipment and give everyone more opportunity to take shots.

Show & Tell at Rhondda Camera Club:
We visit Rhondda Camera Club for a ‘Show & Tell’ evening at the Dai Davies Community Centre, Painters Row, Porth CF39 9AZ for a 7:30pm start. Our members will be presenting a selection of their images from the past year.

The Photography & Video Show is the event for anyone passionate about photography, video or content creation. Guest Speaker – An Evening with Roy Carr AWPF
Roy will give us his ‘From Very Near to Not Quite So Far’ talk. Which will take you from his back garden (expect to see close-up images of flowers and insects) into his street where you will meet some local characters (of the two and four legged varieties) and around the village where he live. In the second part he will take you on some brief excursions to the Vale of Glamorgan, the Brecon Beacon and the ‘Waterfall Country’ of the Neath Valley before returning to the beautiful Pits Woods, just 20 minutes’ walk from his home, revealing how it changes across the seasons.

Internal Competition – Panel:
The New Panel competition comprises of a cohesive set of 3 print linked by a strong theme, story, or visual style, judged as a single body of work rather than as individual images. The panel will requiring consistent mounting, colour and tonality, and visual flow to tell a deeper narrative or to able to explore the images subject comprehensively. The winning panel will received a new trophy ‘The Walter Waygood Trophy’
Each Member are allowed to submit one panel of three images

Guest Speaker – An Evening with Steve Greening AWPF.
Steve Greening is a new presenter on the WPF circuit and will be making his first visit to Merthyr Tydfil Camera Club. Steve gained his AWPF in 2024 with a panel on Insect Marco. Steve will be presenting his “Day out in Nature” talk which is a print and digital talk in two parts, which is mainly insects/bugs and some birds.
