3-Way Battle 2025

Wednesday (12/11/25) saw the club host our annual 3-Way Battle against fellow camera clubs from Barry and Rhiwbina. Andy Leslie, a WPF judge with several years experience, was given the difficult task of running his eye over 24 prints and 24 PDIs and award each a mark out of 20 to produce an overall winning club. In addition to this Andy was also asked to select a Best Colour Print, Best Mono Print, Best Colour PDI, Best Mono PDI as well as his own favourite image.

In proved to be a very close contest with only 7 points separating the 3 clubs with Merthyr Tydfil CC coming out victorious.

Merthyr Tydfil CC – 293pts.

Rhiwbina CC – 289pts.

Barry CC – 286pts.

Club Members Bleddyn Pullman with his image “Green Snake” and Andrew Jones with his image “Sharon” won the Best Colour PDI and Judge’s Favourite Image respectively.

Other Awards:

Best Colour Print – “A Le Monet” by Frank Learner of Barry CC.

Best Mono PDI – “Llandaff Cathedral” by Stephen Taylor of Rhiwbina CC.

Best Mono PDI – “Cloisters” by Philippa Evans of Barry CC.

The club would like to thank Andy Leslie for giving up his time and providing an excellent critique on every image. We would also like to thank the member of the three clubs for braving it out in awful weather to make this wonderfully successful evening and we look forward to next year in Rhiwbina CC.
