Thursday 7th August 2025 – Club receives National Lottery Grant

We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in our application of funding for some new equipment from the National Lottery Community Fund. Further News will be released over the coming weeks
Saturday 21st June 2025 – Andy’s Man Club’s “Day for Ceri” charity event

Today Merthyr Tydfil Camera Club were delighted to support the Andy’s Man Club charity for their “Day for Ceri” events at Pen-y-Darren Park. Club members Martin Eaglestone, Andrew Jones, Billy Wright and Bleddyn Pullman attended the day and captured over 600 images of the day. Wednesday 18th June 2025 – An Evening with guest speaker Wayne John

I would like to give a thank you to Wayne John on behalf of the Merthyr Tydfil CC members for your fantastic presentation last night. It certainly brought a different perspective to how we see the environment in which we live and will encourage the members in to trying something different. The quality of your images was outstanding and I would recommend to any club if you are looking for speaker for one of your evening to book Wayne and his Unnatural Environment print presentation. Saturday 7th June 2025 – Barrian Cup at Barry Camera Club

On Saturday Norman Cahill and John Morgan attended the prestigious “BARRIAN CUP”; a competition organised by members of Barry Camera Club and is open to all WPF member clubs and also including several clubs from the South West of England. Clubs are asked to submit 5 prints, for which at least one must a landscape/seascape print for the competition. This year judge was Gareth Martin a very experienced member of the WPF Judging team. In a very tight competition Bridgend & District CC and Monmouth PS could not be separated in first place with a score of 97 points out of 100 and each scoring three 20s, a 19 and a 18. Rhondda CC finished third on 96 points, Our five images scored a combined total of 85 points with Julie Jones “Winter Sunset over Mountains” and Norman Cahill’s “Can I Tell a Tale or Two” both scoring a respectable 18 points.

Congratulation to club member Konrad Gwozdz who photograph of Alex has been recognised in the Cyfarthfa ‘Juxtaposition Competition’. The photograph depicts Alex a modern young man in front of Cyfarthfa Iron Works which is over 200 year old
